Landon Donovan is about to start playing soccer again. Donovan is one of the best American soccer players in history. He retired (stopped playing soccer) in 2014. Almost two years later, he decided to start playing again. He joined a Major League Soccer team called the LA Galaxy. Donovan played in just 9 games for the LA Galaxy before he retired again.

But now Donovan he says he is coming out of retirement once more. This time he will play soccer for a team in Mexico called Club Leon. He will play in a special competition called the Clausura tournament.
Donovan is now 35 years old. He has been playing soccer for a long time. He has played in three World Cup competitions. He has played for both Major League Soccer teams and for the U.S. national team. He has scored more goals for those teams than any other players.
