On January 25, rock climber Alex Honnold became the first person to climb Taiwan's Taipei 101 skyscraper without using any safety equipment. The 1,667-foot (508-meter) climb took the American about an hour and a half to complete. The event was shown live on the internet.

Last Saturday, Lai Chi-wai used a rope system to pull himself up over 820 feet (250 meters) along the side of a skyscraper in Hong Kong. Mr. Lai, who can't move his legs, was strapped into his wheelchair as he climbed.
On June 12, Selah Schneiter set the record as the youngest person to successfully complete the famous climb up "The Nose" of El Capitan. Selah is just 10 years old.
