Update: Kenyan Leaders Hold Surprise Meeting

Kenya’s president, Uhuru Kenyatta, and the man who ran against him, Raila Odinga, met on March 9. The meeting surprised many people. The two men said that they had solved many of their problems. Both men said they wanted to work to bring their country together.

Mr. Kenyatta said, “This marks a new beginning for our country.” Mr. Odinga called Mr. Kenyatta “my brother”. The men said that in the past, the people of Kenya have often been split. They said that they don’t want their country to be divided. The two men came up with a seven page agreement that they think will help solve some of the problems in their country.
